Happy 30th Birthday Wade!!

Last night we had the sweetest back to school themed 30th Birthday party for my husband Wade, complete with photobooth, favors, prizes, beer and a smorgasbord of yummy food!  I just wanted to take a moment and wish you the best year of your life baby, because you make every day of my life better by knowing you!!  You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I thank God for you everyday!  Check  back soon for pics from the party!  A special thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated and especially my sweet Grandma who baked 4 strawberry pies, a chocolate B-day cake and 5 dozen buns!!  She’s the best!

David Jay Freedom Tour…

Last Thursday David Jay was in town for the Freedom Tour. Originally I thought it was going to be a four hour info-mercial, but it was not at all. He was so encouraging, informative and educational. If you get a chance to hear him speak during his tour, you will not be disappointed!

Here are some pictures from the event.

The sweet tour bus…

Couture books is one of DJ’s sponsers.  Their books are AMAZING hand bound works of art like you would find in Borders in the Fine Art section.  Be sure to check them out because we’ll now be offering them to clients!!

the man of the hour…he is a very dynamic speaker.

From L to R Scott, Me, DJ, Paige, Stazy Z, Jared, Erin, and RJ.

Stacy thinks I’m funny…she is so awesome! She made be the best orange earrings ever for modeling for One light. Not only is she a talented photographer, but her jewelry is incredible.  Thanks Stacy!

Becker also joined us…I loved his orange shoes!  Are you sensing a theme?  Yes, I LOVE the color orange!  On a side note, we got to see B-school behind the scenes and it looks AWESOME!  You should check it out!

Here is my hubby, Wade and I hanging out with [b].   We also got a cool T-shirt for helping out!

Here is the video I made to win $500 show-it bucks. Hopefully I’ll win! I had to find the bus, but it wasn’t there anymore…

{Denver Wedding Photography} RJ & Leslie Trash the Dress….

RJ and Leslie just celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary, and after their week long vacation to Seattle to celebrate they were anxious to get back in their wedding attire and relive their special day. RJ and Leslie have a very unique story, as they met at church camp back when Leslie was 17 and RJ was only 15. RJ, although seemingly very young had gone through a lot causing him to mature faster than other 15 year olds. In fact upon giving a speech at camp about loosing one of his friends during the Columbine shooting, Leslie knew this was the man for her!! I can’t imagine knowing at such a young age! After graduation, Leslie moved to CO to be closer to RJ and then they married at the young ages of 18 & 20. Well 6 years later they have grown into a beautiful couple and RJ is just about to start Pharmacy school next week. A special congrats to getting in at CU!!

Thankfully these two like the rain, because last Tuesday we had plenty of it. It made for a very moody, but fun session. Look for these two again in the fall when we do their family session…can’t leave the dogs out!

Thanks RJ & Leslie I had a great time!

reminder why I photograph…

Every once in a while I will get a really sweet email from a client that reminds me why my job is so important. Even to say that what I do is a job is difficult, because I love photographing so much that often times it doesn’t feel like a job. Here is a little note from one of my clients and future bride’s who’s fiance is out to sea for a few months.

“I’m *so* happy you’re our photographer. hahaha. The long story, moderately short: Peter’s at sea. Will be, probably until November. Peter…not sure when, really, bought me a jewelery box that holds photos…I got bored and was doing silly things (like cutting up pictures of us and putting them into those silly coaster-photo-things…which turned out rather cute, actually) and decided to re-do the frame as well. So it’s now 16 various shots from the e-session.

And when I can’t sleep, there is enough light in the room that I can see the silly thing. And seeing those? Helps me remember how much he loves me. It’s weird. Like, you can feel it not just see it in the pictures. Even when he’s terribly far away.

Like…Singapore. ;)

Sorry this is moderately incoherent. But. I’m going to go lay in bed and stare at pictures til I fall asleep again.

Thanks for doing what you do.

When I received this email I wanted to cry, especially the part about feeling Peter’s love in the pictures, not just seeing it. Thanks for sharing Kimberly, you’re a great encouragement! I wish Peter a safe return home to you and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding at the Stanley in December! In fact, I’ll be shooting a reception there this weekend!

{Boulder Wedding Photography} Nicollete and Ben’s E-session in Boulder…

I met Nicollete a few months ago at the Bride’s Against Breast Cancer event at the Ritz Carlton in Denver. I love her effervescent personality and zest for life! She was the lucky recipient of a complimentary engagement session from Center Avenue Imaging, so I met up with her and her fiance last week in Boulder and we had a great time!! They have the best engagement story ever, as Ben surprised her with a helicopter ride to a swanky restaurant where he proceeded to ask the love of his life to be with him forever! Be sure to check back soon for the slideshow, but for now check some of my favorites below!
