WPPI Convention Las Vegas…

One more month and I’ll be in Las Vegas for the annual WPPI Convention
Wedding & Portrait Photographers International! I can’t wait, as I just received an Evite from Becker inviting me to his private annual B party where I’ll have the opportunity to meet who’s who in the photography industry! I’m super excited, as he is one of my favorite wedding photographers, next to Mike Colon and his beautiful red headed girlfriend Jessica Claire.

I’ll be sure to post photos from the event! Stay tuned.

Today’s Engagement Session!!

I had a sweet time shooting Kurt & Joyce’s e-session today. It wasn’t too cold out and they are a great looking couple, very easy to photograph. We had a lot of fun shooting outside with the massive snow flakes that kept on getting stuck on Joyce’s eyelashes. She even caught some in her mouth:) Check out the link below to see the highlights from their session!

Kurt & Joyce E-Session

I am really excited about their images, as I recently purchased a new 70-200 Nikon VR 2.8. It is my new love…well next to my super awesome husband who I fall in love with new everyday.

Feel free to leave comments! I love to get feedback.

Jazz Anyone?

If your interested in Jazz you should check out Phoenix Jazz Project this Sunday night at the Rythym House in Bridgeville from 7-10. I’ll be shooting some promo shots for their website and hope to see you there!

New Website!!

I’ll be launching a new website with in the next few weeks and I’m really excited, as clients will finally be able to see more images at a larger size.

I hope to launch it before I leave for Colorado in two weeks. My family is taking their annual ski vacation at Keystone and I’m looking forward to hitting the slopes and checking out my brother’s sweet new house in Boulder. He went to Croatia in August, and I lent him my underwater camera…his images were beautiful. I hope to enlarge one and have it framed as a house warming gift.

These were two of my favorites. The first one is one the guys cliff jumping and the other is my brother,Ryan swimming under the Blue Cave in the Adriatic Sea.

If you haven’t been to Croatia, you should book your ticket now. I went a few years back and it was the most gorgeous place I’ve ever visited. Crystal blue waters along the Dalmatian coast, fresh seafood and no Americans in sight.

Brides playing football?

Ok, this is for all of the Nittany Lion fans out there. Check out Bride Blitz
One of my husband’s classmates, Kerri Smith, started her own business, Nittany Weddings, and as a marketing device she had 100 women in wedding gowns playing football on the weekend of the Penn Sate vs. Michigan football game. Only in Happy Valley!

19 Million Dollar Wedding Dress..

I was on the elliptical at the YMCA the other day and the nightly news was showing the most expensive wedding dress ever created…$19 million!!! Wow, I would be afraid to wear it. The bridal show took place at the Ritz Carlton and the designer was Kazanjian Bros. Ladies, don’t worry, you don’t have to spend $19 mill to look like a million bucks. One of my favorite wedding gown boutiques is in Mt. Lebanon, Tomasina.

Visit Tomasina’s Website

If you’ve ever walked down Washington Rd and peered in their store front then you know what I’m talking about. All I can say is AMAZING! There is actually a word for the experience that I had. It’s only ever happened to me once before when I walked into the home of my photography professor, Brian Arnold. I saw a 20×40 color print hanging above his couch. I had seen it before, but never in person. He had received it as wedding gift. Anyway I couldn’t stop staring at the image, it’s like something took over my body and I couldn’t even udder a word….same thing happened at Tomasina’s when I saw a bride trying on her gown. You should check it out!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day! I came across this postcards from 1907 and thought I would share it with you. It is such a beautiful images that I want to enlarge it into a 16×20 poster and hang it on my wall. The post card reads on the back, “Well Lena how did you get over the original love affair?” Very interesting. This would make great Valentine too!

Organic Wedding…

We had a date open up and it happened to be Katherine and Vincente’s wedding date, July 21st! Although I didn’t have the opportunity to meet the lucky couple myself, Katethrine’s mom was kind enough to bring along pictures of the two of them fly fishing. Vincente is a professional fly fisherman and is currently attending medical school in Philly, while Katherine is in a veterinarian program at the same location. They’ll be having a lovely wedding held at a beautiful Yellow Barn, about 30 min north of the city. I’m looking forward to capturing some images of the two fly fishing in their wedding attire at sunset! I can’t wait!

Celebration at Willow…

We headed out to Willow restaurant last night to celebrate the completion of my graduate program. While owning and operating Center Avenue Imaging, I’ve been furthering my education and will officially graduate with my Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership in May.

My goal is to assist other young artists and photographers in their ability to market and sell their work and services in addition to providing fine art, high fashion, documentary style photography coverage for all of my brides.

Check out Willow for your rehearsal dinner, to celebrate your engagement or Valentines Day! I’m a big fan of their Hawian Ahi Tuna starter and the stacked portebella and feta chicken breasts. Artistic ironwork is featured throughout the restaurant. Be sure to ask for Brian as your waiter, he’s the best server there!
