I’m happy to report that I’ve found a much faster way to blog my images than ever before. Hopefully with this, I’ll bring to you more of my sessions. You might have thought that I’ve climbed into a dark hole and been hibernating for the fall & winter, but it’s been the opposite! I’ve been so blessed to photograph almost 30 families, this fall alone making it our busiest Lifestyle session season to date. I can’t take all the credit though, as the ridiculous creative and talented, Jill Carter of Common Couture, and I have teamed up this past year to bring my clients an extra added value! She’s brought not only amazing wardrobe styling, hair and makeup, but complete set styling too! She has such an incredible grace upon her to help bring out the beauty in others, and with my desire to capture that beauty in people…well we’ve made quite a team. Here is just one of the sessions below. However, this family portrays a special beauty with out any help from us!
The Pettigrews have been waiting over 3 years for this little Christmas miracle, Lily Grace! They were finally granted their visas this past fall to fly to Korea and meet their daughter for the first time. This beautiful story of adoption makes my heart overjoyed! A special thanks to everyone who purchased prints during the month of October, as 10% of the proceeds went to helping “Bring Lily Home.” Carol was made to be a mother, and just lights up with Lily or LG, as they like to call her, is in her arms. Dennis has never smiled, as much as he does now. This family of 3 is finally complete, and the best present they could ever have asked for, eachother! Congrats Pettigrew Family! Thanks for allowing me to capture your family. A special thanks to Jill of Common Couture for complete styling of wardrobe, hair, makeup and set! Contact me today to set up your family session at shannon@centeravenueimaging.com or 720.837.4183 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!

You can read more about Audrey’s birth and our transition to a family of four here. We are so excited to finally meet our little sweet peach, and I was even feeling well enough after her birth to do her newborn session. I missed out photographing Chloe’s, as I was pretty out of it being a new parent, but this time I’ve even managed to put together an announcement, which you can see below! I order this one through Tiny Prints, which I love, and if you’re a costco member, you can also receive an additional 20% off! With every newborn session we photograph, you receive one digital image included with your session fee, which is great for announcements!
Here are some helpful tips for photographing your newborn or you can contact us to photograph your new bundle of joy, as we love babies!!
1. Be sure to photograph them with in the first 10 days, as this is when they are still sleepy, and will cooperate with you putting them in super-cute positions.
2. Either have your home very warm or a blow dryer handy, as the noise and the warmth will put them to sleep.
3. Nurse or feed them right before and during the session, as they’ll drift off into a milk slumber!
4. I picked up some cute props, ie headbands and a basket at Hobby Lobby and I even got a mini pink lounge chaise that is a doggy bed from TJ Maxx. It works perfect for the itty-bitty ones. Plus, it was only $30 on sale! So check out your local hobby store for some cute things for your shoot.

It seems like yesterday that she was born, only 5 pounds 11 oz and now she’s running, singing, talking and laughing. My daughter has brought us the most joy over the past 2 years, and now very shortly, she’ll be joined by her sister, due 3 weeks from today! She has such an inquisitive mind, always trying to solve puzzles, just like her Daddy. If you’ve ever met Wade, she looks just like him, even down to her toe nails! Good thing I have a cute hubby
Right now, she’s singing the lyrics to twinkle, twinkle little star in the background, which melts my heart. So onto Chloe’s 2 year photo session. If you would like to have your child’s year session photographed, just drop me a line at shannon@centeravenueimaging.com! I may be a little bias, but I think she’s adorable!

Chloe and her bear!

LOVE this one!

She was getting a little sleepy by the end!

Isla is one of the most laid back babies you’ll ever meet, plus she’s a great sleeper! She’s 4 months old now, but when she was only 10 days old I had the chance to photograph a few images of her and her beautiful mamma, Erica. Congrats Erica & Rush, she is perfect in every way!

There is something so special about living among people in a community, where you not only call them friends, but family. I’m certain we are one of many that consider this of the Wilton family, but never the less they are so dear to us. Ally was there at my daughter’s birth, we often celebrate Christmas with a wonderful homemade Christmas eve dinner, our girls love playing together, and Dave could not be a better friend to my husband, Wade. With that said, we got a call late on Christmas day with the news that Ally was in labor! Being a transplant, like ourselves, to CO, Ally’s parents live a 2 day drive away, so with the help of many loving friends, we covered shifts watching her girls until her parents arrived tonight. I was lucky enough to not only spend time with the girls, but also take them to meet there new baby brother Gideon! They didn’t find out until Gideon arrived that he was a boy, but Dave couldn’t be more thrilled! Also, his pride and love for Ally for enduring her third “all natural” delivery in just three years could not have been sweeter, and more sincere! Below is just one of my fave’s from the day. Congrats Wilton family!

The Wilton Family is one of the sweetest families you’ll ever meet and their two girls, ages 1 and 2 are too adorable for words. I met up with them at their home in Lafayette, which is an old church turned into a house. It’s definitely one of the coolest houses ever, but we decided to take the session outdoors, as the weather & scenery was just perfect! You might remember Ally from her maternity session here, with her first daughter, Norah, and now she is pregnant with baby #3 due in January! It’s amazing to watch and document as their family grows. Now onto their session!

I love the way Dave is looking at Ally here, so tender & adoring!

We took a minute out to get a sweet image of Margot and her mommy.

Then I held Margo and captured these beautiful maternity images , while Dave was bonding with Norah.

Isn't Ally the most stunning pregnant women!

Then the rest of the family joined back up with us.

So adorable!

I love the backlight in these images!

Proof that even with 2 kids you can still be sexy

Sweet Margot!

I LOVE this one of Norah!

Sisters!

Yesterday I had the privilege of meeting up with David and Meggin to photograph their beautiful family at Red Rocks Amphitheater, also where David graduated from high school. The place was brimming with families, hikers, bikers and of course us! David is opening his own Pediatric Dental office in Broomfield at the Bradburn Village so getting family photographs to advertise with was a must. We had so much fun exploring the park looking for the perfect place for a family session. Now onto some of my favorites from the day! To view all their images click here.

Meet Samuel...also one of my favorite boy names of all times!

Here is Matthew..he was more into snuggles with mom than having his photo taken, but I can understand having a 1 yr old myself!

I love the way Meggin is looking at Matthew..so much love!

I don't think Matthew wanted to share his mommy!

Aren't they a beautiful family?

David and Meggin, I really enjoyed spending the day with your family. You two are such great parents and I wish you all the success as you open your new business! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of documenting your family…I feel truly blessed by knowing you!

Isaiah has a spark in his eyes, similar to one his Dad, Ramin holds, but all bundled up in a 2 year old, whom is as wild and crazy, as his infamous blond curls. I met up with the Razavi’s on Saturday & we headed up to Left Hand Canyon in Boulder, however when we arrived we found the temperatures to be a bit brisk, so all be it a short session, we still had a lot of fun!

Meet Isaiah! I LOVE his curly hair, but I could be a little biased, as I have some crazy curls myself!

Doesn't he have beautiful parents?!

Good thing Ramin is a runner, because I think he does a lot of it with Isaiah!

Love these guys!

Ramin & Natalie it was so fun photographing your family! We’re looking forward to meeting up with you guys some time soon for dinner!

The Carter Family could easily grace the pages of the Anthropologies Christmas Catalog. Each of them have a signature look that is no doubt timeless and beautiful. There is no one word to sum up this family, as they are as much gracious, loving and caring as they are beautiful. Meet them only one time & you’ll feel as though you’ve been part of their family for years! Now onto our lifestyle session from Saturday!

meet Ava & Zeph...also known as puppy
they have the most beautiful colored eyes!

Ava loves her little puppy Zeph.

Jill loves her puppy too!

Ava has a wonderful imagination & I think she was looking at her invisible baby bird here.

here she is with her baby bird outside..

she didn't want to put her down, but later Adam offered to keep her safe in his pocket

Zeph looking into the magical camera...

hugs..

play time..

i love this series...

love this image...so romantic with the sun flair!

Jill & Adam like to have fun too! Jill's laughter is contagious.

This image is incredible..Jill is such a classic beauty & it's no doublt that Ava is following in her mom's footsteps.

this field is right in their back yard at Anna's Farms...I love the one lone tree.

My job doesn't get much better than this!
Thank you Carter family for allowing me to document your beautiful family!
