Last week I had the chance to meet up with the uber sexy, styling and philanthropic Jackie! She contacted me because, as she stated it, “I’m not the same person I was when I got married. I went into marriage thinking that it was going to be a fairytale, so I had the big poofy white dress and the long train, but the day after wards I woke up and realized I was wrong.” Jackie wanted a chance to wear her dress again, but this time, as a new more confident and radiant women. Honestly, I haven’t seen pictures of Jax on her wedding day, but I think she’s even more gorgeous today! I think all women should have a chance to do a “Trash the Dress” or “Day After Session,” well in this case years after, but sometimes I think it takes having the gift of marriage and years of growing and healing from our past to discover the true women that we are meant to be! Now onto the photographs!

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Tiffany’s Trash the Dress session at a Victorian Horse Farm near Longmont. I wish I could start every Sunday morning photographing a fabulous bride having fun in her gown. She wanted to be photographed at a ranch because her husband, Mark is really into riding horses and is a true cowboy himself! They’ll be celebrating their one year anniversary next month! Congrats to both of you and have a great time in Vail!

Tiffany is so stunning!

If you’re interested in doing a Trash the Dress session please drop me a line at shannon@centeravenueimaging.com or call me at 720.837.4183, as I am currently running a special till the end of the month that you won’t want to mss!

RJ and Leslie just celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary, and after their week long vacation to Seattle to celebrate they were anxious to get back in their wedding attire and relive their special day. RJ and Leslie have a very unique story, as they met at church camp back when Leslie was 17 and RJ was only 15. RJ, although seemingly very young had gone through a lot causing him to mature faster than other 15 year olds. In fact upon giving a speech at camp about loosing one of his friends during the Columbine shooting, Leslie knew this was the man for her!! I can’t imagine knowing at such a young age! After graduation, Leslie moved to CO to be closer to RJ and then they married at the young ages of 18 & 20. Well 6 years later they have grown into a beautiful couple and RJ is just about to start Pharmacy school next week. A special congrats to getting in at CU!!
Thankfully these two like the rain, because last Tuesday we had plenty of it. It made for a very moody, but fun session. Look for these two again in the fall when we do their family session…can’t leave the dogs out!
Thanks RJ & Leslie I had a great time!

I had an incredible time last week in Las Vegas at the countries largest photography convention with nearly 12,000 other photographers. I feel so fortunate to be a part of an industry that loves to share, give and help support creative types such as myself. The platform speakers were pretty interesting, but my favorite part was just talking with other photographers, and see, hear and even be a part of what they are doing to help change and promote the wedding industry as a whole. I really feel enriched not only as a photographer, but as a person too. I met or was reacquainted with the most amazing people who are very passionate about photography. It was like a jolt of creative lighting serged through my entire being and I think I will be forever changed by the those lives that my path has crossed. They names are too numerous to thank, but check back soon for the more photographs from the famous Vegas Photography Party scene. Until then, here are some images from our last day in Nevada. There were a bus full of photographers that headed out to the dessert to soak in some AMAZING views (I had never been in the desert before, it rocked) and photograph with some of the top photographers in the industry, such as John Michael Cooper of Alt F, David Beaksted and the amazing peeps of Tri-Coast It also happened to my birthday, which was a really cool way to rock out my 29th. My new friend Jason Cohen had everyone sing Happy Birthday to me, which made me turn bright red, however I felt showered with Birthday lovenz, so a special thanks to Jason! The images towards the bottom are of me and the amazingly talented Paige Elizabeth, who was also my room mate in Vegas. She is my sister from another mother

Last Saturday I headed down to Morrison, Colorado with Halen for a western, small town style Trash The Dress session. We had an amazing time and I can’t wait for the next one! A special thanks to Natosha Quinn who did an incredible job on her makeup! I first met Tosha when she was working at the MAC (I love MAC makeup….it lasts forever) counter in the Flatirion Mall. She is also available to do makeup for your upcoming wedding, birthday, anniversary or prom. So be sure to check her site out here…. she rocks! If you’re interested in having a TTD session please contact me to set up an appointment and to inquire about our spring trashing special!

I just shot my first “Trash Your Dress” session on Saturday with a former bride, Jen and we had an awesome time! I am looking for more couples or brides that would like to trash her dress. For more information visit the site trash the dress.com
or view the “Good Morning America” special that aired Saturday here.
These are some of my favorite images that I shot on the property near our home based studio.

What can I say, I love flare! This image of Jen and the Mac truck is especially interesting. I love the juxtaposition of the subjects, beautiful bride against a rusty old Mac truck….AWESOME!

Jen is absolutely gorgeous…I love her eyes in this one!

This second image was taken at an abandoned old house next to where we live, she had no qualms about standing in the doorway for this cool shot.

I think this one is my favorite!

Thanks Jen!  Look for more images to be up on my website soon!
